Peyton Cook is a photojournalist from Springfield, Illinois working on a master’s degree in professional media and media management on the photojournalism track. She has a bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in communication design. She started as a graphic designer for the Daily Egyptian and grew to Design Chief in 2023 and Digital Editor in 2025.

She recently had a marketing internship with Hanson Professional Services and a sales internship with NNR Logistics.

She has won many awards from Illinois College Press Association.

Peyton will participate in the Saluki Photo Weekend Workshop in April in Murphysboro, Illinois.

Peyton has published work with The Daily Egyptian.
